In Bor Town, South Sudan, health care remains critically limited, despite the presence of some local medical facilities. Existing hospitals lack modern equipment, essential medications, and adequate medical supplies. Families face barriers to quality care, preventive medicine, and comprehensive treatment. But God is stirring hearts to bring hope to Bor Town through a better-equipped healing ministry.
Africa Sunrise Communities has heard the direction of the Spirit! Our Board of Directors has redirected our mission strategy. We had originally planned to develop the Rising Hope Christian Center, which we would open with a primary school. That is why we have spent our time in the past raising funds for land and the construction of a security wall. The RHCS compound stands today as a symbol of what is yet to come through education at that location.
However, through a series of fortuitous contacts that our Executive Director, Jacob Guot, was able to make, God has made it clear to us that we need to begin by meeting a more immediate need – that of physical healing through a medical clinic. Experienced missionaries with the same type of vision in other African countries have shown us that it is better to establish a reputation within the community through first offering quality medical care and then the community will embrace educational opportunities which follow. In a region where the nearest hospital is often unreachable, a medical center becomes the cornerstone of hope.
After much prayer and discernment, the Africa Sunrise Communities Board of Directors felt the Spirit’s confirmation to launch a medical ministry. We have received a substantial startup grant that has validated this divine direction and demonstrates God’s provision for this calling.
Therefore, we are pleased to announce the Fall 2025 opening of the Rising Hope Medical Center. It will provide:
Currently, we are preparing a leased facility in Bor Town, recruiting qualified medical staff, and securing essential equipment and pharmaceuticals. Educational facilities at our Rising Hope Christian Center will follow.
