Lual Manyuon Kuol

Engineer Lual Manyuon Kuol is a Civil and Structural Engineer whose inspiring life journey reflects resilience, determination, and a deep commitment to rebuilding South Sudan through infrastructure and community development.

Born in Itang Refugee Camp, Ethiopia, in 1988 during the height of the Sudanese civil war, Lual’s early life was marked by loss and hardship. Orphaned at a young age and raised by his grandmother, he grew up amidst displacement and conflict, experiences that shaped his passion for building a better and more stable future for his country.

After spending his formative years in Kakuma Refugee Camp in Kenya, Lual pursued his education with unwavering dedication. He completed his secondary studies in Uganda and went on to earn a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil and Structural Engineering from Moi University, Kenya, graduating with Second Class Honors in 2017.

Lual began his professional career at Gemtel Telecommunication Company before moving into the construction and infrastructure sector. He founded LIM Construction Company in 2013 while still a student, driven by a vision to contribute to South Sudan’s rebuilding efforts. His work has since spanned both private and large-scale public infrastructure projects.

Currently, he serves as a Project Manager at African Resources Corporation (ARC), where he oversees major road construction projects including the Juba–Mundri Highway. His leadership, technical expertise, and commitment to excellence have made him a respected figure in the engineering field.

Beyond his professional life, Lual is passionate about community engagement and peacebuilding. He actively participates in local initiatives that promote unity, education, and sustainable development.
